Mission:

DETCOG's Public Safety Programs utilize Criminal Justice Grant Funding to provide free Law Enforcement Training to the Law Enforcement Communities in the Deep East Texas Region.

Goal:

​

DETCOG’s Public Safety Programs offer Law Enforcement training, which is mandated by the
State of Texas, along with providing specialized training to the region. DETCOG’s Public Safety
Programs employ local instructors within the DETCOG Region when available, as well as
locating and providing subject matter experts to the DETCOG Region.

​

DETCOG’s Public Safety Program is in the process of obtaining their TCOLE Training License
and will continue to partner with the Central Texas COG to report all training until that License is acquired.

Service Area:
 

DETCOG’s Public Safety Program proudly supports all Law Enforcement in Angelina, Houston,
Jasper, Nacogdoches, Newton, Polk, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, and Tyler Counites as well as Alabama-Coushatta Indian Nation.
