Provides counseling, crisis intervention, parent education and many other services designed to keep youth from running away from home, being truant from school or exhibiting other delinquent behavior.

FAYS:  Family and Youth Services

The FAYS program addresses family conflict and everyday struggles of youth and their families while promoting strong families and youth resilience. This is accomplished through a family and youth-focused intervention service model that acknowledges and respects the diversity of families.

Families seeking FAYS services commonly stem from issues such as:

  • Depression

  • Bullying

  • Grief/Trauma

  • Suicidal Ideation/Attempt

  • ADHD issues

  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse by Adult

  • Anger

  • Coping with Divorce/Abandonment

  • Anxiety

  • School Issues

  • Family Conflict

Services Provided

FAYS aims to serve the family as a unit to build resilience and strengthen families to keep kids safe and families connected.  Specialists work with the family to address issues that would affect family unity.  Services offered include, but are not limited to:

  • Counseling  Family, Group and or Individual

  • Communication Skills

  • Anger Management

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Problem Solving

  • Parent Education

  • Referral Services

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Child Abuse & Neglect Awareness 

FAYS Eligibility Criteria​

Youth 17 and under in at-risk situations that include, but are not limited to the following:


  • School Truancy

  • Runaway

  • Severe Family Conflict

  • Delinquent Behavior

Referral Process

Referrals can be made by anyone:

  • School Personnel        

  • Juvenile Probation

  • Concerned Friends      

  • Church Leaders

  • Youth                                

  • Family Members

FAYS services are free, confidential and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the following counties:

Angelina, Sabine, Houston, San Augustine, Jasper, San Jacinto, Nacogdoches, Shelby, Newton, Trinity, Polk, and Tyler.
