HOME FOR TEXAS HEROES HOME MODIFICATION, REPAIR, AND WEATHERIZATION PROJECT
The Home for Texas Heroes Home Modification, Repair, and Weatherization Project provides home modifications and repairs for low-income veterans and surviving spouses and includes –

Home modification projects to improve accessibility (walkways, ramps, kitchen, and bathroom modifications)

Home Repair (plumbing, electrical, interior walls, flooring, lighting)

Weatherization (sealing of doors and windows, siding, roofing)

Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program (VASH)

The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program for homeless veterans combines Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at VA medical centers and community-based outreach clinics. Homeless veterans are screened by the VA and then referred to DETCOG.
