Criminal Justice Planning
DETCOG assists local governments and non-profit agencies with grant writing technical assistance for projects which make our communities safer. These programs are funded through the Governor's Office Criminal Justice Division. Grant programs include Direct Services to Victims, the Violence Against Women Act, the Justice Assistance Grant program and Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention.

We also train and assist local community leaders in developing local and regional plans that identify gaps in services and funding, assess the needs of the region as related to juvenile justice, law enforcement, victim services, courts and prosecution, as well as prioritizing the identified needs.

Law Enforcement Training
DETCOG facilitates law enforcement training on a regional basis and provides reimbursement to local law enforcement agencies to enable officers to attend specialized training not available in our region.

Juvenile Justice Alternatives
Our Regional Juvenile Alternatives grant helps local juvenile probation departments provide essential services that include psychological evaluations, counseling services, life skills classes and drug and alcohol awareness.
